Sustainability Impact
Quantifying and verifying the environmental benefits of GreenPress
Carbon Reduction Calculations
Our comprehensive analysis demonstrates that GreenPress achieves a 76.9% reduction in energy consumption and carbon emissions compared to traditional WordPress hosting.
Baseline vs. GreenPress Emissions
Traditional WordPress hosting on x86 servers with Apache and no caching consumes approximately 511 kWh of energy per website annually, resulting in 204.4 kg CO2e emissions.
GreenPress optimized hosting with ARM servers, LiteSpeed, and multi-layer caching consumes only 118 kWh per website annually, resulting in just 47.2 kg CO2e emissions.
This represents a 76.9% reduction in both energy consumption and carbon emissions for each website hosted on our platform.

Long-Term Vision
Our vision for industry-wide impact
While our initial goal is to reduce the carbon footprint of individual WordPress websites, our long-term vision is to drive industry-wide change in digital sustainability practices.
If just 1% of WordPress websites (approximately 4.55 million sites) adopted similar optimizations:
- 1.79 billion kWh of energy would be saved annually
- 716,000 tonnes of CO2e would be prevented each year
- This is equivalent to planting 28.64 million trees
